RJB's MY09 Betty

Hey folks,
Thought I'd start a thread to show progress on my ride. Current mods are Butler Built 3" stainless steel TBE, K&N 69-8004TTK pod filter kit which I fitted Wed night, and a MAC valve installed plus Verso tune by ASG yesterday. The pod filter was the first mod I've done to the car myself. I learnt a few things last night - like my arms are too short to reach into the engine bay to grab fallen items, my hands are too big to fit into tight areas, and a socket extension and pliers would've been damn handy to have at about 9pm. After struggling to fit the silicone hose on to the plastic turbo housing a mate suggested I put it in boiling water for 10 mins. It made a big difference but (of course), the hose cooled down when it was 90% fitted. That last 10% involved a generous amount of swearing and chunks of skin off my knuckles. I've got some HSD HR coilovers courtesy of Balistic to be fitted along with Whiteline 22mm front/rear sway bars by Wheels World in the not too distant future. I plan to change to 18" rims once the stock tyres eventually wear out, but that'll be a while yet (the car has only done 17k). Other than that, I might get the sounds done last of all. I'd rather spend my coin on mechanicals ;) Cheers, Rob List of mods: Butler Built 3" SS TBE K&N 69-8004TTK pod filter kit MAC boost solinoid Verso tuned by All Star Garage - 273.2whp / 203.7kw / 371.2nm @ 17psi HSD HR coilovers BSF30Z 22mm heavy duty blade adjustable Sway bar - Front BSR49XZ 22mm X heavy duty blade adjustable Sway bar - Rear KBR15 sway bar mount support brace KBR14 Brace - Control arm support KSB568 Brace - Strut tower alloy adjustable KCA313 Roll centre/bump steer - correction kit Ultrex RS 18x8 Rims +42 offset Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 235/40/R18 tyres Ultrex STI Spoiler Ultrex Front Lip Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch DBA 4000 T3 Slotted Rotors - Front and Rear Project Mu B-Spec Pads - Front and Rear Goodridge Braided Brake Lines 2 x OMP WRC Seats, subframes and rails |

And the all important dyno chart. She does 273.2hp/203.7kw at the wheels on 17psi boost. Sean didn't do a before chart as the car was running too lean with the mods. Overall I'm pretty damn impressed with the car. Now I have to learn how to drive her again.
Video of the last dyno run. The quality is pretty crap due to recording with an iPhone standing next to the fan. [YT]IOUjmgINGd0[/YT] |
Good stuff Rob, like the numbers.
Nice one! Look forward to hearing how the HSD/sway combo feels like compared to stock.
Less like a boat, more like a car! Just aim and floor it :D Do like the figures, would have been hoping for 400nm or more of torque :D |

Swaybars alone will reduce the roll by a substantial amount. Coilovers will prevent the infamous head bob and help a lot to keep the car flat in corners.
400nm would've been nice, but I'm pretty happy with the figures so far.
Any improvement on the original output is a good improvement  |
should spin a wheel on wet grass now

Nice work rob, think I pulled 250 something with just TBE
