Cheers for the link Andy, did he respond to your question regarding whether they were ceramic coated or just painted?

I'm still undecided, I'm gonna give MMS a call and see what they recommend. Might be worth spending some money on dropping some forged pistons in there as a bit of a safety measure instead. I'm also thinking about using beefier injectors, (~750cc) to try and reduce the duty cycle duration and take some strain off the engine. (I read Tuna's article at 2am half drunk so I'm not sure if I understood correctly)

In terms of numbers I'd like +200kw, I'm scheduling a 6 speed early next year so hopefully the current one holds out!

(Edit: Yeah agree with you Mike, I haven't seen any aussie cars pushing 225kw on a VF34, don't know what's up with the yanks dyno's, they claim 240kw on 91octane piss water.)

Can probably get just over 200 with similar mods to mine. Depends how aggressive you want the tune.

If you wanna go for a ride in my car to compare, just send me a PM ;)

Yeah hoping so! Sadly flying out to work tomorrow *sigh* :(

I'm interested to know why your VF34 compressor housing looks so different to mine?

yours:

Mine:

Totally different compressor housing castings??

Yeah there does seem to be two types, google image search shows both types of housing. Must be a market variation?
Birds car is making 197kw - 226kw would be very optimistic for a VF34 on an EJ205.

Agreed - I paid $100 for mine about 2 years ago but lately I haven't seen one for less than $200 in a while. If you're willing to wait around you should be able to find one for a decent price.
Ah my bad Mike.

Spoke to Dean at MMS yesterday and he recommended just shoving the turbo on with a tune and maybe injectors and enjoying it. Sounds sensible enough to me so hopefully I'll get it booked in for a few week's time!

Ok, so had a moment of weakness this morning:

Came off a 2005 STi. Now to find some injectors...and a splitter for the larger intercooler
