PPG is gears/box manufacturer. http://www.ppgearbox.com.au
Dogbox refers to the fact there are no synchro's to help engage the gears.
Typically a dogbox may have several straight cut gears with no synchros in it which may have been made by PPG.

Dogbox with triple-plat clutch in a daily = fail.
That sort of setup is designed for a race car.

dakked in a day? gotta be some sort of record, pretty crap to hear mate & def puts a dampener on getting a new car its been 3months since i got my 32 and still sorting out niggling issues before i can do any propper driving in it

some people also get confused with dog/spur gears/straight cut gears - which are the same thing

had a similar sound a while ago, sounded like a knock, took it to doug and it ended up being the tappets (i think)

i did a search and there's a few posts on random wrx forums about noisy tappets on new engines due to the builders not doing something a rather when they put it together
