That sucks mate, hopefully have it back on the road with good power soon.

Going down in displacement, almost no change in power and a factory offered engine (although only in old ADM models and same generation JDM models) should be mostly paperwork.

that sucks - overrev killed it or just engine failure for other reasons?

Re the engine number change, just do an engine number change form, they wont know the difference, however will still show as a 2.5L on the paperwork.

RE pits. I was under the impression it was only needed if increasing engine capacity. Dropping down to a 2L is fine iirc

ECU/Wiring loom would be completely different between 207 and 257, would it not?

I had a shit load of quotes done up for new motor...Some included standard oem short block and others included forgies etc. Pm me if you want a copy of them to give you a better idea of figures.
