Kevin's BLACK MY11 WRX

Hey guys and girls,
Been lurking the forum for awhile now and seen some nice cars.
i thought it was time to post my own driveway post.
bought a wrx 2011 in obsidian black a few months back and love driving her.
owned a silvia s15 prior to going awd and man the handling is awesome dont think ill go back to rwd.

only things i have done to the car are more cosmetic for now.
more fun stuff will go in later on when i get some cash.

First thing i changed was the head unit, thought of getting it installed by professionals but wanted the satisfaction of doing it myself. i had no experience at all just a ton of reading and youtube videos.turned out very good knowing that i made all the wiring is tidy and clean. everything works great and nothing blew(thank god)

started tearing everything apart

Ran all new speaker wires(which was the hardest part) power wires down the passenger side and rca/speaker wires down mid. it actually took me a few days to complete as its my daily driver.

installed
Alpine IVA-520BET
Alpine SPR-17S Component speakers
Alpine SPR-17C Coaxial speakers
Alpine MRX-F56 4Channel Amp
Alpine MRP-M2000 mono amp
no sub yet but thinking Alpine 12" type x in sealed box.
looking for quality not loudness.
will add dynamat along with sub when i get to it.

Welcome. Well done on the DIY. It's rewarding eh?

just recently brought chev's boot and sti spoiler. also picked up his axle back exhaust (sounds amazing compared to stock). some will say ricer etc but i like the look of it. i don't intend to make people think my car is a sti.

car how it sits now, got some satin black rpf1's to be put on soon.

Looking good mate. I bet the sound system sounds awesome! I was going to get the type R's in the front as well, but I was told to try and amp the factory speakers first... Long story short, still got factory speakers.

Pretty sure that you live around the corner from me in Tapping! Nice car!

Well the stock speakers are half decent just the output of stock headunit wasn't that great. Really happy with the results of type r speakers. So loud that I get rattles but dynamat and sub will be added later on. Spektre must have the wrong car I'm located more south but drive to perth often.

Finally had some free time so ended up painting some interior and exterior parts.

bought some 18" enkei rpf1's fixed up all gutter rash with epoxy steel and sanded to my standards. prep was a pain in the ass to say the least. but results were better than i expected.

also painted fender badge and radio bazel to satin black, personally i think the car flows better.

enough reading here are some pictures..

when i bought them
