Cheers Jacob. I'm not sure what happened yet, I need to check a few things. I reckon I might have an electrical gremlin. Car drove perfect all day after the missfiring and low fuel pressure. Maybe the low fuel pressure caused the missing/spluttering.

Was good to see the custard mobile getting spanked today!

Anyone reading this have any idea what might have caused the issues I had on Saturday morning.

After my first run of the event as I was coasting through the car park the car started lurching and surging badly, missfiring at idle.

The base line fuel pressure had dropped from 52psi to around 44psi. I adjusted it back up to 52 and it was behaving itself on the next run, idle back to normal.

Checked it again and it was up to 60psi, I adjusted it back down 52psi and the car performed perfect for the rest of the day and hasn't missed a beat since.

Anyone recognise these symptoms?

Car has a Processwest surge system with a Walbro 460 in it, lift pump is a dw300. Car has never missed a beat with this setup for nearly two years.

There were some very big bumps and dips in the track which bounced the car around a lot on my first run.

Could I have an electrical gremlin which upset the surge pump? Shit fuel (e85). Fuel reg malfunction?? (turbosmart 1200)

How is the 460 wired? Off the factory wiring or have you used a relay and fed directly from battery?

1000cc injectors, and the sort of power Nick has (on ethanol) and your gonna need to raise base pressure in order to get the fuel volume through those size injectors.

Potentially a power supply issue. (Bad connection, or bad circuit breaker/relay etc.)

Hey Daz

The new relay and safety switch are tucked away in the top right corner of the fuse box. There is one main power wire to connect and an earth wire.

There is a power wire and earth wire connected to the tank and chassis.

There are two wires soldered in to the ecu. One gets connected in to the ignition signal, and the second wire gets soldered into the rpm signal wire of the ecu for the safety switch.

Installed exactly to the letter of the install guide supplied from Processwest Daz.

I still suspect this might be the case. I have had an odd lighting issue for a few months. Sometimes the left side park light does not work at all and then the next day it does....

I'm still wondering if the big bumps/dips upset something in the force after that first run. The next three runs I stayed out of the big holes.

A couple of years ago Burke had issues with his. Turns out it was his circuit breaker. It was a auto reset thermal overload circuit breaker. It must have had a little bit of a bad connection. And the high current through the circuit resulted in excess heat being generated in the breaker. And that would cause the issues.
