From an experienced Perth-WRX member ask your tuner about the CEL being thrown and the associatedboost spikes.
10 at WOT is not ideal but again ask your tuner why this is?

I have spoken to Mao, he said my 3port solinoid maxed out and recommend a EBC. I just want a second opinion before paying for a EBC.

Edit: would a aftermarket actuator help?

*Cough crap tune cough*

Sounds like your engine could have seen the best of its life if its using that much oil. Get rid of the AOS, hook up the catchcan propperly.

Compression test and leak down test turns out good, and has AOS and catch can already. Just changed to Penrite, waiting to c the result

Yes, definitely. but I just wanna know how to solve the boost creep problem.

Fair few Perth-WRX people run tunes well into the 12.0AFR's.

Again, depends on how comfortable and competent the tuner is in the first place.

Drowning timing with fuel just to keep it happy seems a little backwards. Easier to just reduce timing or reduce boost.

Maybe post up the tune for some criticism?

Fixing the "creep" issue usually involves turning down the PID control and not going overly crazy with initial and max wastegate duty cycles. (Something your tuner should be able to do and understand.. one would hope)

I have used the Grimspeed 3port boost solenoid for 2 years now and have no issues with boost spikes.

For me i use a cheapo AC Delco solenoid off an F6 Typhoon.. works fine once you work out the correct PID and wastegate settings.

best 25bucks i ever spent.
