Default Geng's MY13 WRX

Hi P-WRXers,

Been a member since late 2012 but have not contribute or posted many threads to the forum and I feel like its time to do so. With Uni and work, it is hard to find the time to do little things like these. Currently I am on 3 months uni break, this will allow me to contribute and work on my new car.

End of last year I sold my beloved MY06 Hawkeye which my gf and I liked to save up for something newer. I knew exactly what the next car will be but was not sure what colour to choose, WR Blue, Black or SP White. The car was Gen 3 WRX Premium, which my gf and I also loved (mmmm that wide body). In the we both agreed on the white and the hunt began...

Took a good 3-4 weeks to decide on the perfect SP White WRX Premium. Went from scoping out ads on the internet to test driving at the dealership and to looking the ones which were on sale interstate.

Our final decision came down to 2 cars in NSW, but we had to made sure the car we were going to choose was in immaculate condition. Indeed it was, we took a week off work and flew over to Sydney the inspect both cars and made payment for one. Took a good 3 before the car was transported to WA, this wait felt like it was taken forever.

On 11th August the car arrived at the airport and I went to pick it up, this was one of the happiest day thus far. Arrived in perfect condition was our MY13 Satin Pearl White WRX Premium, first owner practically kept it brand new with only 13,xxx on the clock.

Since the arrival the car just sits the garage and taken care of very well. Only drive it on the weekend when we go out, weekdays both of us commute to uni and work via train or a beaten up daily. During this holiday I would like to take the time to evolve the car by adding extra HP along with minor cosmetic upgrades, which includes:

Current modifications:
- xForce TBE
- Grimmspeed 3-port boost solenoid
- DeatschWerks DW65c fuel pump
- Tune to 280hp on 20psi @ Evo R
- STi front lip

Future mods, maybe next year:
Cobb access port
Rays Gram Lights 57 Xtreme 18x9.5
Coilovers (either STD or KW)
Defi gauges
Side skirts
Rear diffuser
STi rear spoiler
Rain guard deflectors
Shark fin radio antenna

This is all the for the mean time, any suggestions on parts or places to purchase from, dos and don't will always be welcomed. Will update this thread with info and pics as the car continues to evolve!

Thanks,
Geng

COBB Accessport is a great item, I had one in my Mazda, but I don't think that it would work on ADM WRX models... but regardless you would be better off using a local tuner.

You have local shops that support ECUTEK and various other tuning software you would be better off utilizing their dyno and experience.

Agreed, access port is only good if ur mods list is in its list. As a tunning tool, its no different to use local tuner. Since u r getting gauges, really no need for accessport.

Definitely use cai with turbo inlet to fully remove intake side flow resistance. U might wanna add mac valve (boost solinoid) to ur shopping list too.

Welcome btw

How much would it cost for a mac valve? And is it better to install it now or in the future when I upgrade the intercooler. Sorry, lastly what workshop do you recommend, I've been with Mao and STechnic and they were pretty good.

Thanks

I have a spare Grimmspeed boost control solenoid that is good for a new home.
Still new and unused in the box.

Can PM me if you are interested in more details.

The Perth Workshop Thread has some garages and tuner shops listed within.

Each one has their own preferred workshop, we all had good and bad experiences. Stecnic doesn't tune cars. Mao($550) or all star($1100) can tune ur can at good price, race torque can supply q300 with tune at great price too, but not by tune itself alone.

Mac valve is for boost control, ie reduce boost spiking. Someone would disagree, u could do a bit more research.

OP: For you infomation their are more than 2 workshops in Perth that offer tunes, do your research and choose based on what they offer, not how much they charge. You get what you pay for.

Also +1 for the grimmspeed boost controller, cheap and does what the box says.
