I bought her back in 2013 as a first car, from an asian guy who was flying back to china after completing his studies here, long story short, the ebc was overboosting to 21psi and the car was on a tank of 91 (ouch).

[IMG]http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/924/VJ5WVm.jpg[/IMG]

drove it for a while before biting the nail on a 207 swap and E85.
So I switched the car over to E85 with sti pinks on the td04, grabbed a tactrix and the learning experience began.

Pretty soon, the #4 cylinder piston ring gave way, and required a spark plug change every week due to fouling. Which began the car's garage life.
Found myself a 207 through import monster's yahoo auctions service and started buying parts bit by bit for the swap.

A couple of months down the road, as im doing the headgasket & headstud swap on the new motor, i realised the hone marks were still on the cylinder walls, after checking the oil pump gear service clearances, I realised someone has rebuilt this motor and binned it very soon after! Look at the zero rust in the coolant sections!

[IMG]http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/924/RhmtHX.jpg[/IMG]

From there on, the car has been a simple lego puzzle, put bits together and connect plugs, thanks to subaru interchangeability.

Ran it in, switched to carberryrom and now she runs without issues! :D
Glad this swap went without a hitch!

Took it to a Barbs come n try day and the only issue was lack of brakes, which is easily fixable.
Watch this space for more interesting mods on the way!

Long overdue mate. Nice set of pads and fluid should give you a nice pedal feel, plus you can keep those perfect speedlines

Nice man [emoji106] I wasn't sure if 'build logs' were the sort of thing that were wanted around here but obviously so, nice dedication to your Scoobie Doo man [emoji869]
Peace

Of course they're wanted, build logs are the staple of performance car forums.

No problems man, I'm new here with a brand new 2016 WRX so just trying to get a feel for the forum; every forum is different. I don't want to offend anyone!!

TROLLEY 06-02-2017 07:43 PM

Haha, odds are you'll get offended before offending any of us :P

mARC 06-02-2017 07:43 PM

Cheers for filling the 'so I bought a car and it blew it up', quota, has been missing from PWRX for some time

LMAO! That's good to hear in a way, there certainly have been a few guys with definitive 'points of view' that disagreed with mine - and let me know about it! I don't do that...

Nevertheless it is a wonderful car and some really nice work under the bonnet - from the little I know mechanically - so that is sweet mate [emoji106] awesome stuff mate [emoji3]

I will only get offended if dudes come at me in terms of my personality and who I am as a person - I always try to be positive and supportive to all regardless if they drive a set of wheels I don't like or have a POV I disagree with. Forums should be a source of like minded people who support each other...not a dick measuring contest and a throw down on the guy who is a noob [emoji23]

Apologies to the OP for dragging this off topic....sorry mate.
Peace
Buff
