Have not been active on the forums for some time (and will continue to do so after this blog entry).

In short, not planning any further no limits nights, skidpans or even cruises for that matter.

If I can I will try and get some Brembo's on the front of the car and also add an OMP WRC seat but even that is not looking likely (though these will have to be sorted eventually so think of them as on the to-do list).

In a few years the (plan at least is) car will become a weekender anyway so hoping by that time I have the means to fund the addiction.

Piggy has been a pretty fun little daily for the moment. Thought I'd be "used" to the 18G by now but it still pulls nice and strong. Have managed to scare the crap out of myself by actually having a go at launching here and then, car gets out of the hole at an alarming rate...

But I guess for me the most important thing I have learned over the last year is about what is defined as a "fast car" (lets just say its an entirely different definition to when I first joined the forums). Can only say I am much better off for it and can only thank those who have helped me see it.

Time to get my nerd on and get that piece of paper + proper job.

Will see everyone eventually I guess but until then take care, monkeee say bye bye.

- Replaced Stock throttle body hose with AVO's IC to TB Silicone Hose Replacement.

- Replaced corrugated intake hose with an aftermarket Post MAF Silicone Hose.

- Cheese boxed Intake, and ran two 45 Degree pipes, one in the wheel arch and one under the air box....Sound amazing & keeps it looking stock :)

- Replaced head unit with DIG OPTIONS fully options head unit with GPS, Reverse Camera, IPOD, USB, WIFI, STEERING CONTROLS etc..

- Fit an Alpine Type-S 12" Subwoofer in boot

- Replaced front & Rear door speakers with Autotek Mean Machine 100RMS 6.5" Splits.

- Fitted front 550mm long, 6mm wide Daytime running Lights on stock lights

- 17 x 8.5 XXR 530's/527's to fit wider semi-slicks (thinking 245's). XXR's because they dont break the budget too much and they get the job done.

- Whatever semi slicks I can get my hands on

- Second set of pads (thinking Project MU RC09 club sport pads) to swap in the night before Barbs.

- Tempted to buy a harness bar and rip the stereo and back seats out permanently (I take out the back-seat + sub for No Limits atm) but I don't know if I can live without music (I know, softaasfuck).

- A new car for when I bin it around the last corner...

Until then its all about seat time. Started out dry with a damp track (had been raining through the day) and then got progressively worse.

I managed a 65.3 in the wet on KU36's no less haha (compared to a 64.2 in bone dry conditions last time). No chance for long track as No Limits don't allow it in wet conditions (I am glad they dont haha).

I also managed a spin around the last corner...was not so fun, more frustrating as I felt I was on a good lap (guess not). I felt like Paul Walker for all of hmmm 0.5 seconds

I GOT THIS SHIT....no I do not have it...at all...

I don't know how much quicker I can go in the dry but I guess I'll find out in January when I hit up another NLN which I can't wait for. I know I can be quicker.

The car is a great little thing to punt around Barbs. Getting much more used to the car and the track.

Did not run more agressive fluid, just re-flushed the Castrol Super DOT4 as I could not get my hands on some SRF in time. Works fine (I think I just braked too early and too soft last time).

Will be keeping my eyes out for some used semi-slicks for the future along with a more aggressive alignment but for now I am more than happy running the KU36's.

I guess a goal for me would be to get the car into the mid-high 50's...it will happen. Just more practice is all.

Small improvements but I am getting there. Pfffft can't believe I wanted more mods...

The best times I could manage from 2 runs of the long track and 1 run of the short track were:

Short: 64.2
Long: 75.9

Neither is really that great. In fact imo they were very slow but I guess it's a start for me to gauge where I am at and improve from here.

A mistake I made before hand was not even checking tyre pressure...100% confident they were too high given I did not pump them myself.

So the only changes for the next No Limits in December will be obviously setting the tyres at 28-30psi before and also running Castrol SRF brake fluid (the Super Dot4 stuff was boiling kettle-spec after 2 consecutive runs of the long track).

Other than that, it's just a matter of learning the track and my braking points (more time lost there due to me braking waaaaay to early). I am sure I am capable of better even if I am on street tyres (KU36's).

Once I start to feel comfortable I may invest in some A050's and go for broke but until then, its just practice as much as I can.

Car runs 197kw (265HP)/390Nm on the MMS dyno. Same dyno as RaceTorque but MMS do dyno runs in 3rd (boost is actually not 17/18psi, more like 19/20psi already).

As I learn more about dyno readings from teh interwebs, p-wrx and workshops I am content...actually more than content with the car (i.e. Im not hooked on one dyno run or ten dyno runs for that matter).

I said it on facebook so I'll repeat it here. Dyno readings to me now are like dating girls, both are utterly confusing and both empty my wallet.

Dave (Master D) got me thinking when he told me to put ma crack pipe down and enjoy the car. He is right. Considering where the car has come from to where it is now I can't be anything but happy with it.

As silly as it sounds I tend to forget that it's only a WRX (lol) that initially had little more than ~120kw/250Nm atw in stock form.

So I'm going to heed the advice of a few guys (Russ, Burke, Dave, Sir Kato, etc) and just keep hitting up skidpans and the odd Barbs outing and keep improving (slowly...very very slowly).

Too much cash to make it all happen (that is, a brand new set from the U.S. is the better part of $5k inc shipping...meh).

Going to just go for more aggressive pads (they are consumables along with rotors so meh).

So my options for pads (front and rear):

Ferodo DS2500 (loved these so much last time)
Project MU HC+
Endless MX-72

As far as rotors go my current 4000's are still pretty new so I'll have them skimmed and have new 4000's for the back ordered.

Also going back to AP Racing 5.1 fluid. I felt the DS2500 + AP combo worked so much better than my current A1RM + Brembo Sport Evo 500++ setup.
