there is a painting at a Mexican restaurant, 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly' in Cannington... there is a painting inside and it's eyes follow you as you move from one side of the room to the other!

Yeah that kind of illusion is really cool. A lot of magicians use a similar prop in some magic tricks.
The brain struggles to determine that you are looking at a hollow and not something popping out which makes the illusion of the face following you. I had a video of a similar technique on a dragon a long time ago, I'll see if I can find it again. Edit: Hahaha the dragon is on their webpage: http://www.grand-illusions.com/image...n_illusion.wmv
