vaguely quoted from Motor Magazine this month:
" vehicles which are either the last of a model (for example a manufacturer was ending production of a particular car, you may see the r34 GTR z-tune as this) which are the technological pinacle of that manufacturer or model will hold a higher resale value as they are the ducks nuts. Alternatively, it may be a special model (such as a homologated version for group A racing) where by a very limited (often just enough to meet regulations) ahve been produced which make them highly desireable.
BTW a blokle named 'Chooka' paid $920,000 AUS for one of only 2 HRT 427 monaro's. the other belongs to HOLDEN.
he apparently has about 27 of them from the first model to the last and this was the one he 'had' to have in order to complete his collection to this point.
1 of 2, but hey, I would not be paying almost a million for a HOLDEN.
as stated above, there will come a time when the prices settle down to where they should be.
