A dyno is a tuning tool as others have said. The only real way to do it IMO is to figure out EXACTLY what the drivetrain loss is (not a guess), and then dyno the engine and work it out from there.

DD/Mainline/Hubba/XSpeed/Wok/Ping Racing - Whatever.... end of the day its a number and it doesn't mean shit! Real figures are ones on that little bit of paper you get after you've had a run down that 400m bit of black stuff....
Because Dan, end of the day there is ALOT of people who dont/cant/wont run that 400m - so the piece of paper is their magical wanking tool. Unfortunately some cheat the system so their wank is bigger then yours.

How many millions of threads are there on here proclaiming power figures, and how many people reply telling them how awesome they are - ALOT. Tuning tool or not those numbers stand for plenty.
