Definitely strip the parts and sell the car stock. I was asking $30k for my car with everything on it, including all the spare bits in the storeroom. No one would pay that money for a MY99 with 70,000+ kms. I had the car up for sale for ages.
Ended up stripping the parts, got about $8-9k back in parts (and that's at basement I-gotta-move-these-parts-asap prices), sold the car for $24k. After taking into account labour cost for stripping/refitting stock parts, I got about $31k back.
More than what I would have gotten if I had sold the car as it was!
