jaron you want it tight enough so you can undo it in the event of a flat tyre... when i tighten mine.. i go till its rather tight and try and turn 1/4 more.. as you would have found out, tyre shops use rattle gun which is un-neccesary but its all about moving cars as fast as possible i guess
