old doesnt always mean bad. My legacy is 17 years old but still runs like new. And has no problem keeping up and in some cases beating its newer rivals.

Poor maintenance is the real problem and its something that the nissan 300zx suffers from. And a pain in the ass engine bay doesnt exactly make a mechanic enthusiastic about working on one. Why bother with a 300zx when a skyline does the job better. nicer engine bay, more room on the interior, about the same weight. If you really like that kind of a swept shape then a sw20 Mr2 is a better option. And as said above. The TT soarer is also a much better option.

A 300zx is definitely an "acquired taste"
