A $200 Wolf 2D and a $20,000 Pectel T10S will make the same power. The difference, apart from the cost, will be in the driveability and economy.
You may notice that the large majority of Microtech cars over east are Rigoli cars i.e. drag oriented. They work bloody well on WOT, as a drag car should, but you'd have to wonder about their part throttle driveability, cold start and fuel economy.
The reason most people use Microtechs on their rotaries, is because its a proven solution and the people tuning them can maximise efficiency and power, on a rotary engine. The rotary engine has a much simpler
ECU requirement than the majority of engines, due to their fuel and ignition setup. A Microtech provides a good tuning solution for this simple setup. .
Why not go with a proven WRX solution, such as a Link, Autronic, Power FC or MoTeC? The tuners here have much experience tuning them and you'll get a better result, rather than a "good result because people over East have done so". Not to mention the support you can get from fellow
ECU owners, and you can even "try before you buy" if you're lucky enough to find someone who will take you for a ride or a drive in their
ECU equipped WRX.
