Yeah - that's why I'm making this thread now, rather than in 2 months when I post up "Crap, I forgot to buy <obscure part #4123>" and everyone says "...duh?" I know the conversion is possible, but I also know it's not something you do in a weekend over a beer or two.

This is all research, and at the end of the day I may well take the easier route and install a 2.5 (if Jester can track one down for me) or rebuild this motor (if he can't). But I'd like to be able to say "yeah, it would have been cool, but here's the reasons why not."
