The best course of action is to pretend your have been blinded by the laser as a result of it being aimed at your face. blabbing..."I have a migraine - black dots in my vision - I cant see!"
Like thats gonna work. Hand held radars are not used anymore. You'll find when ever its held by a copper, it will be a laser and yes, by the time you get the warning, your either getting waved in or going past because he/she is looking for someone going faster.
If your speed is detected over the limit but not waved in and your plate is noted be the operator, you can still get a ticket. But most coppers wont bother so I wouldnt worry to much about that.
