If you went to something like a Bosch 044 which is a 600hp pump then I could see how you might want to check your fueling but a 500hp Walbro shouldn't cause issues.

I'm currently running Walbro with anti-surge collector and can run under 1/4 tank without any surge issues.

Also check with JWS, they sometimes have the surge tanks available but it's hit and miss.
