I think the confusion may lie in the fact that there are different injectors for different markets.
Especially USA vs Oz/Europe Asia.
I have personally unbolted injectors from an EJ257 STi's fuel rails with attached red STi inlet manifold and they were in fact the yellow side feeds as in the chart below. Looking at it now the engine may have been from an US EJ257 STi up at JWS or possibly a Jap EJ257 STi Forry.
