Once spoke to a fellow BMW car club member back in Singapore who was a prison officer at rehab centre and he knew a couple of officers who does the execution. Irrelevant but if anyone wants to know the execution process, here goes...

All prisoners awaiting execution will be placed in cells away from the others. These prisoners will be given typical prison food and on regular occassion will be given an excellent hearty meal in order to lead them into thinking their execution is moments after the meal.

Apparently these so called hardcore criminals (Murders, druggy, etc) will swear at prisoner officers if they walked by or deliver food etc. When I mean swear, it means swear the living daylights out of your family etc etc. However it is said that on the day of execution these very criminals who swore at you will look up at you in the eye in tears with the message, "If given a chance, I would chose not to do it".

On the day of execution, the priest than recite prayers for the prisoner (a very short one), and ask for any last request. The prisoner is than offered a black cloth bag (whats it called ?) where he has the choice of placing it over his head while on the way to the gallows or after.

The prisoner is than escorted to the gallows where he will stand above the trap door. Apparently some prisoners couldn't walk and hence have to be dragged to the gallows.

There will be several officers + 1 doctor on site in a room with a glass panel facing the gallows to withness the execution.

Once again the prisoner has a choice of whether he wants to wear the black bag over him or not.

The noose is then placed around his neck where the executioner will pull the handle that releases the trap door.

About 99.999% of the time, as the prisoner falls through the trap door, he'll fall a considerable amount of height and it is that amount of force that snaps his neck. AKA instant death.

Why 99.999% ? Because in the entire history of execution, there was a fella who wasn't packed with much luck as the fall did not snap his neck. He struggled like mad for 15 mins before dying. Irregardless of how long the prisoner takes to die be it a mere 1 sec to 15 mins, the body is lefted hanging for a period of 1 hour where the officers will lower the body from below and release the noose from his neck. During the release of the noose, you can hear the body exhale its last breathe.

The doctor on site checks for pulse and confirm date and time of death where the body is placed in a black body bag and delivered to the rear of the execution block where family members if any, withness the collection of the body.

Apart from all prisoners, there was this dude whose name was Anthony Ler, he hired a 15 ? yr old kid to kill his wife (the kid stabbed her 7+ times?). Apparently that fella was smiling like a snob all the way to the gallows till he could no longer smile. Sadistic prick...
