Check behind the timing belt cover. Directly above the filter area. Drips down onto things it shouldnt and hence the smells. That would indicate oil pump seal. Thats currently my problem
Plan on DIY session soon as it doesnt look that hard. Main problem is you need someone whos done it a fair few times before as you dont wanna f**k up
The service manual can only help you so much!
Also check around the filter and the top of the sump, the sump plug, rocker covers as can often get leaks around there!
