WhiteRX, I was looking at using the plug to park my old connector on. But thanks for the offer. Has anyone diagnosed why the Beemer ones go south? There is a lot of conjecture over the 99/00 items, ranging from heat, vibration to oil contamination. Most people don't have a clue first hand.

I am getting a plug for it, are you saying they have an off the shelf item? Not really worried about stealth, they only lift the bonnet for a sticky beak, your done well before then.
