there are far more factors affecting what you hear than a driver and its diameter.
lots and lots of times seen guys spending far too much money on speakers and amplifiers and yet had ZERO dampening treatment in the car. They could have spent half the $ with treatment and gotten better sound.
With the exception of 'focal' none of these car branded drivers are any good. Focal isnt really a car brand its just started to become known in the circles. There is no such thing as a car driver vs an ordinary driver. The cars winning sound quality comps in the eastern states are using well speced home audio speaker drivers in them. A few years ago an rx8 using a raven ribbon tweeter took a win!
anyway the best drivers are the ones with the least mass and the most rigidity. which is why any driver /sub with a big plastic logo stuck onto it to look cool is going to suck!
