I would not recommend getting the TT Long motor. The higher compression means, you'll need a retune. If you don't get a retune, it'll be pinging all over the place, and in no time, you'll probably kill it and be back where you started.

Call up a company over east called Ichiban. http://www.ichiban.com.au/

They will sell you a Complete early Gc8 motor for around $1200 to $1300 shipped to you in WA. Compression tested with a 6 month warranty.

Otherwise a complete early GC8 front cut from them is around $2000+ shipping (Around $400)


If you want to upgrade go for a V3 or V4 STI motor. (1997/1998) Swap over the intake manifold and bolt in. Only thing is, they are quite rare in Australia, and if you can find one, they are usually pretty expensive. Around $5K.
