This is my area of expertise people, I'm a qualified refigeration mechanic by trade but now work as a project supervisor for one of perths larger aircon companys. Daiken is the best for sure but you pay for it, panasonic, fujitsu, hitachi and LG are all recomended.

Q. What makes a good aircon???

A. How cheap they are to run...and...how quite they are.

If its for your bedroom spend the extra cash otherwise it wont be the heat keeping you up all night but the noise!!!

Best bet is to go to Rick Hart, Harvey Norman the big electrical companys will give you the best deal for domestic units.

Goodluck finding someone to install it at the moment though, with the weather we have been having atm every installer is charging top dollar and booked out for weeks.

PM if you want to know anything more.
