STi inverted struts can be somewhat pulled apart and regreased
Pull the strut out of the car and remove the spring. Then undo the nut at the bottom of the strut. Then the inverted shock absorber can be pulled out of the strut body. Then you clear out ALL of crappy OEM grease and replace it with some Castrol Lithium based grease. Then reassemble and reinstall strut into car.
If you do it all yourself, it'll probably cost less than $20 for the grease.
