Default Supercheap paint

My father in his sacry wisdom painted his 1974 Range rover with approx 25 x $1.99 Supercheapauto spray cans.......it looked quite good for about a week.

then the paint started to fade and within a month, it looked worse than it did before the paintjob.

so a month later, we had to redo the paintjob. sand back the whole car....again. it wasnt hard, the cheap paint came off easy.

ended up painting it with a 4L tin of Monza Red car paint from supercheap. for under $100 and a days work it came up rather well.
i wouldnt expect it to last for more than several years, if it gets to 5 years ill be happy.

so the moral of ths story.....if you want your paintjob to last longer than a week, dont look for the cheapest option..

Seriouly though, if you fix the dents, rust and prepwork yourself, $1500 should get you a decent paint job that will last many years...
