Ok, i think this thread will have a few pages soon
First point
Idiot's view of a unichip
Unichip is an interceptor, it tricks the
ECU by using the air, fuel mixtures. You're not actually editing the MAP as such, so the
ECU is still running the factory settings. Not a smart thing to do given that there's a risk that it will go bang.
A brand new chip will cost you $1500 supplied and tuned. For that $, why would you bother given that there better options around, e.g. reflashes (e.g Verso), Link (full replacement
ECU).
2nd point
There's limited tuners of unichip around Perth. Before you ask who tunes it, please go to the sticky thread where the tuners are shown under mechanical.
Yes, there are two in Perth
3rd point
Air flow ratio gauge, does jack shit. Its too late by the time its showing lean. Plus, its narrow band, which is not an accurate view of your mixtures
4th point
Even with an electronic boost controller, you'd want to tune it on a dyno. Cranking up and down boost without properly checking AFR and knock is not smart. Long term it will end up bang again
Do a search under
ECU, Verso, ECUTEK, Motec, etc in the advanced seach and you'll find heap of info on this
