Isn't that a bit like saying which is better AIDS or cancer?
Well I've been to both and they are both pretty average, I'd choose Brissy as it's warmer and closer to the coast, but then if you like snowboarding/skiing Canberra is pretty close to Thredbo/Perisher. The nightlife in Canberra was pretty lame from what I can remember, it's cold all the time and there's not much to do.
