It is an intersting one...
I was on a jury once for a dude getting done for "receiving stolen goods".
They look at all sorts of things like how you got the goods, if a normal
person would suspect something, and if there were any 'flags' that should have
made you believe something was "not quite right". This case was over a stolen
TV and this dude stood to do jail time because he bought it under
circumstances that a normal person should have questioned, not just
said "who cares, its cheap".
Basically if "The Man" thinks it sus, then you can get a nasty
"receiving stolen goods" charge. Pleading ignorance = Judge laughs.
