Certainly did - had a 318is with like 116km on the clock. BEAUTIFUL car to drive, very well built and chassis was awesome. Mine had leather/sunroof and a few other extras.
All the awesomeness aside.. the 4cyl sucks total balls. It is totally and utterly lacking in power. I went from my bugeye wrx into that and nearly died. Lasted about 4 months before i got bored and sold it after the novelty wore off.
Still a splendid car to drive.. though i would HIGHLY recommend getting any of the 6 cyls (325/328!).
I have also owned a GTi-R (until not that long ago).
I fully serviced both the BMW and the GTiR. Parts were not that different at all. For the gtir get used to hearing (we dont do imports) however. A clutch change on that cost me 2k also. Beemer was straight forward for parts and fairly affordable, nothing outrageous (just avoid auto classic).
