I don't know why people bag the 318i so much. I've driven and owned numerous "better" cars, and if all I was doing is driving around town, I'd pick the 318i over any of them, in fact even with the choice of the Evo I still pick the 318i more often than you would think (maybe I'm getting old )

The quality of BMW's (can't comment on E36, only E46 and E90) are an absolute standout.

While parts might not be THAT expensive, BMW specialists seem to charge a lot when it comes to labour.
