Well since i'm now holding the Keys to my first Subaru I think I should pipe up and say hello.
Its a MY03 WRX in IMMACULATE condition. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, and the price I got it for so I'm feeling quite stoked I got the bargain of the century this week.
Did the usual checking the vehicle out, no breaks, cracks or screwdriver marks in the
ECU cover... check, turbo bolts all original and no rounding or attempts at taking them off.. everything original, original AFM, I/C the whole lot is completely unmolested and stock. Interior is just as immaculate and theres not one chip or scratch in the paintwork.
Drives like a bloody dream too. So just a hello from me.. I'm Chris.
Some guys on here know me already, but for the majority who don't, although this is my first WRX, I'm no stranger to performance vehicles. My front lawn houses 3 other Toyota's, so this is kind of a new thing for me and the Toymods guys are already giving me the evils for defecting
My stable includes a 12 second 300RWHP JZX90, a 1JZ-GTE converted GZ20 Soarer with R154 and LSD, and a suspension worked SW20 MR2 (Now SOLD).
So I have a few questions I guess I'd like to start off with...
1. HSD Coilovers in a WRX. How are they? I run them in my JZX90 and they are very very comfortable to drive on. The adjustable dampers make it easily convertible for having fun in too. That said, its a completely different car to drive being FR.. so what would they be like in AWD?
2. I need a decent lip for the front. I have the factory sides, and rear pods but the front looks a little bare without a decent lip. I checked a few of the usual suspects - PerfectRun, Nengun etc but couldn't find any. Is there anywhere else I should be looking?
3. Is anyone running Work Meister S12P's/SSR Professor SP1's/Enkei RPF-1's on their rex? I kind of need to know what offsets to run them on. I'm looking at 18x9'ish on all four corners (correct me if this is stupid sizings, but i'm used to Toyota's 5x114.3 staggered size/offset setups). What offset to I need to get them to fit dead flush (by flush i mean slightly outside the guards)
