It is worth exactly what the market is willing to pay at the time, so you really answered your question in the first post. Clearly today's economic climate is not the time to sell a collectable anything for a premium price.
It would be interesting to know what you paid for it and why you bought it....to have a rare collectable car yourself or to make some money? If the latter, forget it right now. If the former, then it's a no brainer...keep it.
Basically, if you get a reply from someone like Ramon (WRXRW), who is the world's most ardent GC8-ista, saying it's too pricey (ie he wouldn't buy it) then you are in a bind.
