Unless I missed a few comments (as I can't be fagged reading the entire thread ) no one has mentioned sodium filled valves yet? They came with the V5 STi's and latter models. They are marked with a "3" where your vanilla models came with a "2" stamped on them. Also some V5/6 heads may have came shim over buckets, these can literally drop out at high revs or with > 10mm lift cams or antilagging...
Stage 1) 99 heads on a factory EJ207 is a pretty sweet combo
Stage 2) Upgrade the valvetrain to bucket over shims,sodium filled valves and cams to suit your ego.
Stage 3) Ship your heads to "engguy" off Rexnet and add $4K
