I havent taken one of these cam wheels off before; but usually any item that needs to be installed in a certain position like a cam wheel should have a woodruf key or spline so you cant muck up the alignment...

you may also need a puller to get the cam wheel off...
(you can get these from supercheap etc from as little as $25)

Its up to you but maybe it is just getting that mobile mechanic to do it for you.
