Haven't read many threads on failed turbos on here.

I would aim to buy the newest you can afford as the drivelines have more goodies on the 05's onwards but buy the car you want and replace parts as required ( or the mod bug dictates ) and not worry to much about when they will require replacing. Most will last longer than you think.
