Any aftermarket ecu will require fine tuning in order to get cold starts, and everything else "perfect".

....saying that, it is to be expected, as Hien said.

This is partly the reason why I had enough of my motec. I ripped it out and sold it. Ecutek will be my weapon of choice next time. My advice is take it back, go and see Ken and Glenn and leave it with them for a few days so they can fiddle with it. They should be able to get it rectified no problems. It will just take time.

The more tuning/resolution (and therefore money) you put into the ecu, the better.
