I think it is rude.

I used to get people park in the doorway and I would ask them to move...

they would say things like- but, my car is in for...

them not being smart enough to realise that you need to take out the car that has just been finished, Or perhaps even finish it off, so that you can put their car into a work bay to do the job.

It is simply arrogance and/or ignorance.
