and the winner is , AF sensor! , you win a date with my mum

car has had the software update but the AF sensor is an older model that is prone to condensation buildup fucking it , going to put the new 1.02 version in and all will be well.
Subaru are so helpful , took it there with no booking , they hooked it up to the computer and BAM, problem found and didn't cost me anything.
the berty turned the cruise control off on the wife as a safety measure.
