You don't need any cage etc at WAW until you drop a 10.99. Anything above that and you can go nuts. you DO however need a fairly new helmet, it needs to be the new standard AS/NZS not the AS standard. For some rediculous reason, the standard itself has not changed, just the name, but the motorplex take it upon themselves to reject you regardless.

I have a half cage in my car which is street legal. Convincing a police officer that has walked up to your car with the yellow sticker already filled out on the other hand, might prove hard. I carry a copy of the appropriate act in my glove box.
