Pickles description is usually based on the info given to them from the finance company or the insurance company selling the car. The vehicle may have been insured or financed as a Heritage quite easily with most of the information about the car's specs given and taken over the phone by people at both ends of the conversation with bugger all clues.
As stated above, verify the car and the specs before bidding. It's always a risk buying at auction, that's why the prices (in general) are lower.
Also any Suabru (possibly other makes) bought at auction is not covered by new car warranty regardless of age. It's Subaru's policy to exclude cars purchased at auction. I fail to understand why they exclude, but they do.
