You would have to be constantly on boost (like on the track but even on the track you'd have a cool down period not just to cool down the engine but the rest of the car) to have to leave the car running idle for an extended period.
But its your call on it at the end of the day. I've got an apexi one installed but not used it. I think i use it more for the battery level and AFR (not accurate) than the timer function. I also drive like a granny so that helps
