If you don't need the phone on the Next-G network, then the A8181 should do the job.
The only downside that I have found so far, is that there isn't an australian english selection from the
Language & Keyboard option, so I just set it to English (Singapore) and it seems to work fine.
The A8183 will allow you to access the Next-G network but you will have the Telstra applications on the phone.
These can be removed by rooting the phone and installing a custom rom.
