This is true! Xenedrine works fairly well, even if it does cost $1 a day or thereabouts. Basically it is a high caffeine pill which juices up your heart rate artificially = bad for your heart. I used one bottle of it and it did exactly nothing, but then again my job entails me sitting in the cab of a machine for 12 hours a day so it's a bit hard to be active at work, but I reckon if it was combined with riding to work/train station or similar it could yield some good results. Only problem is the cost to your body!
Many small healthy meals throughout the day (grazing like a cow does) will speed up your metabolism as nature intends, instead of eating 3 (or less!) large meals a day. Take some apples, bananas or better yet dried banana chips to mung on at work.
