No you wont see vacuum if you attach the boost gauge to the compressor housing or at any place before the throttle body.
The Vacuum in the intake manifold is generated by the motor sucking air through the limited flow of the IACV with a closed throttle body.
Before the throttle body there is nothing that really limits the flow of air enough to generate a vacuum at idle.
I challenge you to try it. Hook up a boost/vacuum gauge to the compressor housing of your turbo and get back to us.
And anyway... The WHOLE point of a boost gauge is so you can see the pressure the engine is seeing. Connecting a gauge to any location other than the intake manifold is pointless.
