I'd start off nicely by casually asking why your standard dealer warranty didn't cover the problem. Then slowly start introducing terms like statutory warranty, defect, an obligation to repair a defect under s34 of the
Motor Vehicle Dealers Act 1973.
Get onto it as I'm sure someone from the dealership will see this at some point.
