My process of thinking is that provided the dimensions of the intake pipe don't change from the stock system, then the AFM is still measuring at the same accuracy and therefore there is no real change to the tune required. I have fitted intakes to 3 of my cars without retuning and not blown a motor(touching wood here, and also my wooden desk... and yes I am a noise addict).

All of that said, there is a school of thought as Chad has said above, that it is "better to be safe than sorry" and there is definitely merit to that approach! My feeling is that with this particular mod, you may be playing it "overly safe".

My thoughts anyway... I'm sure there are others with differing opinion.
